The CLA 500 is a multiple-circuit, solid state cockpit lighting assembly from VAL Avionics. It provides four independent dimmer circuits, letting you control separate lighting regions in the panel individually — instruments, sub panels, avionics, eyebrow, overhead, flood, and post lamps.
Specifications: unit measures 5″ L × 4.7″ W × 1.5″ H and weighs 0.8 lb. Rated at 14/28 VDC input, 2.5 A maximum per circuit. Supplied complete with four on/off dimmer control switches and the connector assembly. Carries a one-year factory warranty from VAL Avionics.
Two versions are produced and they are not interchangeable — a 14V unit and a 28V unit. Confirm your aircraft’s system voltage before ordering.
LED compatibility: per the manufacturer, LEDs designed to run on 0–12 VDC will work with the dimmer circuits. LEDs built for any other voltage or frequency will not. If you are running LED panel lighting, check the lamp specification before assuming compatibility.
