The Honeywell RCZ-833M is an integrated communication unit (ICU) from the Honeywell Primus II Integrated Radio System, controlled through the RM-855 Radio Management Unit. It combines a VHF COM transceiver with an integrated Mode S diversity transponder (XS-852-series) in a single remote-mounted LRU. The Mode S transponder performs conventional and advanced ATC surveillance — receiving interrogations from ATC ground stations and other aircraft and transmitting coded replies with altitude, identity, and datalink information.
This is the -666 dash, which Honeywell designates as the Communication Unit ADS-B assembly — the ADS-B Out-capable configuration (Mode S 1090ES extended squitter). Note that full ADS-B Out (DO-260B) compliance at the aircraft level also depends on the RMU software version, a qualified GPS/GNSS position source, and installation configuration.
